Ford Mustang 1964-1973

Debuting at the 1964 New York World’s Fair, the first-gen Mustang invented the iconic pony car segment with its signature long-hood, short-deck proportions, built on a compact Falcon chassis at an affordable starting price. It offered hardtop, convertible and fastback body styles, powered by inline-six or classic Windsor small-block V8s including 260, 289, 302 and 351. Legendary performance variants covered Shelby GT350/GT500 and Boss 302/Boss 429. The car grew larger year by year; stricter emissions and safety rules after 1970 gradually cut factory horsepower. Still hugely popular for restoration, restomod and drag racing builds today.
