1955–1959 Chevrolet / GM classic, hot-rod and compatible Chevrolet / GMC truck steering-column applications. Vehicle-name search matches are discovery aids: confirm column length, mounting arrangement, 1-inch DD output shaft, 3/4-inch × 36 steering-wheel spline and GM 4-1/4-inch wiring connector before purchase.
- CH001 — 32-inch polished column, manual floor-shift application.
- CH003 — 30-inch polished column, manual floor-shift application.
- CH015 — 30-inch black column, manual floor-shift application.
- CH005 — 28-inch black column with shifter, automatic column-shift application.
- CH014 — 32-inch chrome column, automatic application.
Select the correct length, finish and transmission version. An automatic column-shift version is not interchangeable with a manual floor-shift version simply because the vehicle year matches. Custom installations may require steering-wheel adapters or other modifications; verify the actual steering setup.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
Auto parts like stainless steel headers naturally develop heat discoloration, oxidation, and road grime over time. Always allow the exhaust to cool completely before cleaning. For routine care, wipe the surface with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive metal cleaner. To restore heavier oxidation, wet-sand gently with soapy water using fine-grit sandpaper (800–1,000 grit), then finish with a quality metal polish. Remove all residue and fingerprints before starting the engine, as oils can stain the surface during heat cycles. A light golden tint after driving is normal and does not affect performance.
