FITMENT:
For Small Block Chevrolet (SBC) gasoline V8 engines: 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350 and 400 CID. Engine-family search matches alone do not guarantee chassis clearance.
4WD K-Series applications:
- 1969–1991 Chevrolet K5 Blazer / GMC Jimmy — 4WD.
- 1973–1991 Chevrolet / GMC Suburban — 4WD, K10 / K20.
- 1967–1986 Chevrolet / GMC K10 and K20 pickups — 4WD.
- 1968–1986 Chevrolet / GMC K30 pickups — 4WD.
2WD custom-fit applications: 1967–1986 Chevrolet / GMC C10, C20 and C30 pickups and Suburban. These are not unconditional bolt-on applications. Raised heavy-duty motor mounts and professional clearance work may be needed.
Important 2WD limitations: Not compatible with wide TH400 / 700R4 transmission pans, manual Z-bar clutch linkage, lowered suspension, modified steering linkage or aftermarket front clips, as specified in the current fitment guidance. Check frame, A-arm, steering and transmission clearance before purchase.
Reported installation problems: 1971 Chevrolet C10 Base 5.7L standard-cab 2-door — chassis / steering interference; 1983 Chevrolet C10 Custom 5.7L standard-cab 2-door — head fit and transmission-pan interference; 1972 C10 SBC 5.7L — new motor mounts may be required, with possible steering / suspension interference; 1980 Chevrolet C10 Cheyenne 5.7L standard-cab 2-door — possible frame contact. Test fit before final installation.
For SBC gasoline V8 applications only; a diesel vehicle appearing in a general vehicle lookup is not confirmation of diesel-engine compatibility.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
Auto parts like stainless steel headers naturally develop heat discoloration, oxidation, and road grime over time. Always allow the exhaust to cool completely before cleaning. For routine care, wipe the surface with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive metal cleaner. To restore heavier oxidation, wet-sand gently with soapy water using fine-grit sandpaper (800–1,000 grit), then finish with a quality metal polish. Remove all residue and fingerprints before starting the engine, as oils can stain the surface during heat cycles. A light golden tint after driving is normal and does not affect performance.
